HOW CAN I HELP?
At Vision Cashiers, we are dedicated to improving the opportunities for our children. Many residents don't know the variety of offerings Cashiers provides and we are out to communicate that. We invite you to learn more and engage in this initiative.
With our organization’s vision always in mind, we strive to provide high speed internet for the entire area.
We recently contracted to provide a free WIFI district for the entire commercial area of Cashiers.
With our mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Crime prevention is something that we take very seriously, and our task force is out to get all in the community acting on making it a safe place. We have 5 basic messages for the community.
The problem we are working to address is having affordable housing for full time workers (Teachers, nurses and full time managers). Our mission is to create housing within 20 minutes of Cashiers for those workers of the Cashiers community.
We are out to build alliances with schools, employers, country clubs, the Boys and Girls Club of the Plateau and other facilities to train the unskilled to be employable in our market. Our intention is to construct a bridge leading from area schools, their graduates, and a vetted/skilled workforce directly to our small businesses, country clubs, local trades, and other area employers.
We are out to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of our area so that it can be enjoyed by all. Initially we are supporting the construction of greenways and pathways to make Cashiers into a walkable community.
Pedestrian safety is something that we take very seriously, and our volunteers are working each and every day to make a positive impact. We are the key supporters and champions of building sidewalks throughout Cashiers. Phase one is shown by clicking here
Foster and encourage prudent, sustainable, quality growth of the Cashiers area so that our community can prosper as a year round economy and destination, preserving and capitalizing on its natural assets and heritage and known as a great place to live and visit.
We encourage and endorse organizations and projects that contribute to the cultural enrichment of Cashiers through music, theatre, and dance, with emphasis on initiatives that connect us to our Appalachian heritage.
Currently the group is organizing a 2020 Centennial Cashiers Celebration of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment, with emphasis on its western North Carolina history.
